The Village of Elburn is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-time Police Officer.
Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
This part-time police position involves a variety of traditional policing duties, along with providing police services for community events.
This part-time position does not advance to a full-time police officer position; there is a separate testing process for full-time police officers.
- United States citizen
- 21 years of age
- High School Diploma
- Must be currently certified with a Law Enforcement Basic Training Course by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board
- Valid driver’s license
- Must not have been convicted of a felony or certain misdemeanors, as defined by the statute
- Must participate in and complete all stages of the hiring process which may include, but not be limited to: oral interview, extensive background investigation, polygraph and post offer physical and drug screen
- Must reside within forty (40) miles of the Elburn Police facility
Part-time officers work 8 hour shifts, with a minimum availability of five (5) shifts a month. All applicants must be available to work all shifts including midnights, weekends and holidays.
