The Village of Elburn is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Laborer – Full Time Temporary (Summer).  This position is a full-time, temporary, staff-level employee in the Public Works Department and typically lasts for 12 weeks in summer.  The position is responsible for all aspects of work performed by the Public Works Department, as assigned.  The primary duties will include the care and maintenance of Village parks, buildings, trees, and stormwater systems. This position also operates vehicles, trucks, and other motorized equipment, and uses a variety of tools/equipment necessary to accomplish the work of the Public Works Department.

This position requires the ability to work overtime including nights, weekends, and holidays, perform heavy lifting and manual tasks, and work in inclement weather

Desired qualifications include, but are not limited to the possession of a valid Illinois driver’s license, completion of high school or equivalent, and vocational training or two years related work experience.

The successful candidate shall be able to demonstrate an ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment.

Salary is $16.00 per hour, with an increase the following summer if returning.
