Elburn Police Department
Welcome to the Elburn Police Department website. The Elburn Police Department was created in May 1958 to replace the elected constable system, with Dwight Flickinger appointed as the first Chief of Police (but used the title of Village Marshall). Ten others have taken on the role of Chief of Police including Chief Steven H. Smith, who has been serving since 2009.

The Elburn Police Department has gone through many changes over the past six decades to keep up with the growing community and ever changing technology. This website is just one of those changes that helps to provide the public with the information they seek.

Weather Warnings
It is the policy of the Village of Elburn to use its Outdoor Warning Siren System to provide advance warning, when possible, to its residents and businesses whenever a tornado or other severe weather event poses a potential threat to life and property within the corporate limits of the Village of Elburn.  View outdoor warning siren policy
