Founded in 1881, the Village of Elburn (pop. 4,721) is centrally located in Kane County, Illinois. Although maintaining a sense of a small community is the foundation on which Elburn was built, the Village is increasingly being recognized as a rapidly growing suburb focused on smart growth principles.  Despite rapid growth pressures, Elburn is working diligently to maintain its vision of being “Better, not just Bigger” through careful planning and management, while at the same time, serving its residents and neighbors as an actively thriving community in the far western suburbs.
